DPD Motorcycle Officer Hurt in North Stemmons Crash

On March 2, 2026, at approximately 12:46 a.m., officers responded to an assist officer call in the 2900 block of North Stemmons Freeway northbound. The assist call was made after a motorcycle officer on duty was involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Preliminary information indicates the officer was struck from behind by an unidentified vehicle, causing him to be thrown from his motorcycle. A second vehicle then collided with the motorcycle after the officer had been thrown from his motorcycle.

Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the officer to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“This crash serves as a sobering reminder of how quickly routine calls can turn dangerous for the men and women who serve our city. Our motorcycle officer was assisting on a call when he was struck from behind and thrown from his motorcycle. We are thankful his injuries are not life-threatening, but we are determined to identify the driver responsible.
