Dallas Police Use Technology To Apprehend Florida Murder Suspect

Dallas Police

On Monday, November 17, 2025, Dallas Police officers made a significant arrest thanks to teamwork, quick thinking, and cutting-edge technology. Officers with the Central Business District (CBD) were alerted when a Flock camera in downtown Dallas detected a vehicle connected to a homicide investigation in Jacksonville, Florida.

As officers responded, a second Flock notification updated the vehicle’s location in real time, allowing them to track its movement through the city. Using this technology, officers were able to narrow down the suspect’s path and coordinate a safe approach.

When officers located the vehicle in the 900 block of Canton Street, they called for backup to conduct a high-risk stop. The driver initially refused to exit, creating a tense standoff, but through clear communication and calm persistence, officers were able to safely take the suspect into custody, without incident.

The suspect, 31-year-old Randy Campbell III, is charged with Murder in connection with the Jacksonville investigation and Assault – Public Servant in Dallas.

“This arrest is a powerful example of how modern technology, combined with skilled officers and strong coordination, keeps our community safe,” said Chief Daniel Comeaux. “Thanks to tools like Flock cameras, our officers can respond faster, act decisively, and successfully bring dangerous suspects off the streets.”
