The Dallas Police Department, in partnership with the U.S. Marshals Service, is launching Holiday Heat, a targeted, short-term operation designed to locate and arrest violent offenders with outstanding felony warrants.

Running from November 23 through January 9, the initiative focuses on areas experiencing higher rates of crime and is aimed at ensuring a safer holiday season for all Dallas residents.

Holiday Heat brings together federal resources, Dallas Police detectives, specialized units, and enhanced patrol presence to aggressively pursue individuals who pose a threat to public safety. At the same time, officers will maintain visible community engagement efforts to reassure residents and reinforce the department’s commitment to partnership and transparency.

“As we move into the holiday season, we’re Dallas, and we’re turning up the heat on violent crime,” said Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux. “Holiday Heat is a deliberate and focused effort to remove dangerous offenders from our neighborhoods. Our message is clear: if you’re committing violent crime in this city, we’re coming for you. Our priority is to ensure every family in Dallas can celebrate the holidays safely. And we need the community with us, if you see something suspicious, report it. Your information helps us keep Dallas safe.”

The U.S. Marshals Service, which has a long history of successful fugitive operations, is providing critical investigative, intelligence, and logistical support.

“Violent fugitives have no place to hide in North Texas,” said Sean Malecha , Acting U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Texas. “Through Holiday Heat, the U.S. Marshals Service is proud to stand with the Dallas Police Department to pursue the most dangerous individuals in our community. When local and federal partners unite, offenders should expect a knock on their door. We are committed to protecting families not only during the holidays but throughout the year.”

To protect officer safety and the integrity of ongoing investigations, operational specifics such as locations, timing, or tactics, will not be released.

Dallas residents play an essential role in the success of Holiday Heat. Community members are encouraged to stay vigilant, remain aware of their surroundings, and report suspicious activity or tips on individuals with active felony warrants.
