Officer Simpson has been a member of the Department since September 2019 and is assigned to the Central Patrol Division. He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
On September 5, 2025, Officer Cesar Rangel, #12461, turned himself in to the Denton County Sheriff’s Department for a warrant out of the Elm Ridge Police Department for Assault – Family Violence, a Class A Misdemeanor. Officer Rangel has been a member of the Department since September 2022 and is assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division. He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
