Dallas Police

The Dallas Police Department Gang Unit arrested 21-year-old Nehemiah Drake on February 11, 2026, who was wanted connection with three drive-by shootings that occurred in 2024, as well as charges related to an armed carjacking in 2024.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Gang Unit officers responded to three separate shooting incidents within one hour in the 6800 block of Nandina Drive, the 1400 block of McKenzie Street, and the 4200 block of Willow Springs Lane. At each scene, it was reported that unknown suspects had shot out of a car while driving past. The investigation determined that nearly 300 rounds had been fired, and the Gang Unit continued to pursue all investigative leads to locate the suspect responsible for these violent offenses.

A few weeks later, on June 23, 2024, Dallas Police responded to a robbery in progress in the 3300 block of Junction Street. It was reported that multiple suspects had stolen a car at gunpoint and later crashed. The car was recovered and inside officers located a pistol with a machine gun conversion device attached. Detectives forensically linked Drake to the gun, and the gun to the three shooting incidents on June 11.

Drake was ultimately charged with three counts of Deadly Conduct – Discharge Firearm, a third-degree felony, and Prohibited Weapon, a third-degree felony.

“The safe apprehension of this violent impact offender reflects the Dallas Police Department’s unwavering commitment to public safety,” said Major Andre Taylor, the commander of the Tactical Investigations Division. “If you put others in danger, you will be held accountable, no matter how long it takes to find you.”
