15 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a burglary of a residence in progress call in the 4900 block of Accent Lane. The preliminary investigation determined that the suspect, 20-year-old Zechariah Ramirez, had broken into the residence and was actively packing the victim’s belongings in suitcases. Maintenance workers interrupted the burglary, triggering the suspect to run. North Central patrol officers responded immediately, flooding the area and setting up a perimeter. After a foot chase through the neighborhood and some resistance from Ramirez, officers took Ramirez into custody and placed him under arrest.
“When out in the field, communication is key. Our officers are well-trained and well-equipped, which results in more arrests and a safer city,” said Interim Assistant Chief Richard Foy.
Ramirez was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a second-degree felony, as well as Evading Arrest or Detention, a class A misdemeanor. This investigation is documented under case number 097075-2025.
