Towards the end of August, Northeast Dallas experienced a string armed robberies that left the community in fear. However, the Dallas Police Robbery Unit was able to meticulously connect the offenses and discover evidence that ultimately led to the perpetrator’s arrest.
After studying multiple robbery reports and the offense locations, Robbery and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN) detectives searched the locations for surveillance footage. The search discovered crucial video evidence that not only allowed them to identify the suspect, 19-year-old Jontae Anderson, but also issue a warrant for his arrest and the search of his premises. On September 1, 2025, a joint operation with PSN, Northeast C.R.T., and SWAT officers was quickly executed that led to the arrest of Anderson, and his associate, 21-year-old Curtis Carter.
In addition to the arrests, the following was seized upon execution of the search warrant:
- short barreled Radical Firearms AR-15 rifle with 60 round magazine
- Taurus pistol with extended magazines
- Taurus pistol with regular capacity magazine
- Glock pistol with extended magazine
- 218 rounds of varying pistol and rifle calibers
- Stolen purse connected to one of the Robbery offenses.
“Our detectives and officers are relentless in their goal to keep Dallas safe” said Deputy Chief William Griffith. “Criminals may think they are getting away with crimes and are avoiding being arrested, but that isn’t true. Our message to them is simple, we will find you and we will arrest you!”
Anderson was charged with Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony. Multiple Aggravated Robbery charges are currently pending.
Carter was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants including Indecent Exposure, a misdemeanor B offense, Evading Arrest, a misdemeanor A offense, and 2 counts of probation violation stemming from Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a third-degree felony.
