Dallas Police: Homicide Reported on Main Street

On July 5, 2026, at approximately 11:10 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a major disturbance with ambulance call in the 2600 block of Main Street. The preliminary investigation determined that two men, later identified as Josiah Gomez, 21, and Sylvester Victor, 26, were involved in a physical altercation outside of a business, when Gomez pushed Victor down a flight of stairs and then stomped on his head. Victor was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Gomez was located and arrested on July 22 and charged with Aggravated Assault – Serious Bodily Injury. On August 6, 2026, investigators were notified by the medical examiner that Victor had died as a result of his injuries. Gomez’s charges have now been upgraded to Murder.
