The following employees were terminated by Chief Comeaux during a disciplinary hearing on August 3, 2026:
Senior Corporal Sarah Lenhart, #8960, was terminated for violating department personnel rules of conduct. Senior Corporal Lenhart had been a member of the Department since November 2006 and was assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division.
Police Officer Nakisha Cardwell, #11548, was terminated for engaging adverse conduct and arrested by the Mesquite Police Department for driving under the influence of alcohol, a class B misdemeanor. Officer Cardwell had been a member of the Department since July 2018 and was assigned to the South-Central Patrol Division.
Sanjuana Gonzalez was terminated for violating department personnel policy: absence without leave from duty assignment. Gonzalez had been a member of the Department since January 2004 and was assigned to the Communications Division as a Police Dispatch Analyst III.
Karen Guiterrez was terminated for violating department personnel policy: unapproved leave without pay due to excessive absences. Guiterrez had been a member of the Department since October 2021 and was assigned to the Communications Division as a 9-1-1 Call Analyst.
