Dallas Police Crack Down on ATV Street Racing

Dallas Police

On January 25, 2026, the Street Racing Task Force (SRTF) and patrol officers responded to multiple calls regarding reckless all-terrain vehicle (ATV) activity and street racing across the city. Officers towed a total of 11 ATVs to the Dallas Police Auto Pound.

At approximately 2:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Good Latimer Expressway and 2600 Elm Street after multiple calls of ATVs blocking the intersection and roadway. When officers arrived, they observed a white Jeep Wrangler driving recklessly and performing donuts in the intersection. A traffic stop was initiated, and officers discovered a child inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Eber J. Rosario Soto, was arrested and charged with Endangering a Child by Criminal Negligence, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, and Reckless Driving. Rosario Soto was transported to the Dallas County Jail. This incident is documented under case number 011900-2026.

Later that afternoon, at approximately 3:35 p.m., the Street Racing Task Force responded to additional calls in the Central Patrol area and the Central Business District. Officers observed a large group of ATVs illegally parked in the roadway in the 200 block of July Alley. The ATVs did not have license plates. Seven ATVs were impounded and transported to the Dallas Police Auto Pound. This incident is documented under case number 011924-2026.

Additional calls related to ATV activity were received in the 800 block of South Riverfront. As a result, three ATVs were towed for being unregistered vehicles and transported to the Dallas Police Auto Pound.

“While our officers are working around the clock responding to hazardous winter weather, choosing to street race is not just reckless, it’s dangerous and irresponsible. This behavior puts lives at risk and will not be tolerated in Dallas,” said Chief Comeaux.

Officers will continue to address reckless and illegal vehicle activity to maintain public safety and reduce traffic hazards throughout the city.
