On January 6, 2026, Dallas Police Central Business District, working with the U.S. Marshal’s North Texas Fugitive Task Force, arrested 40-year-old Velisa Purvis, wanted for multiple felony narcotic charges.
Officers spotted Purvis in the 1500 block of Garrett Avenue and took her into custody without incident.
During the search, officers recovered:
- 39 small bags of suspected crack cocaine
- Two bags of suspected methamphetamine
- Drug packaging and money
- Marijuana and other paraphernalia

Purvis has four outstanding felony warrants and is now facing additional charges of Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance between four grams and 200 grams, and Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance between one and four grams for the crack cocaine, methamphetamine, currency, and individual packages with the intent to distribute.
