On November 1, 2025, South Central CRT officers were alerted of a stolen trailer being pulled by a semi-truck into a repair shop in the 5200 block of University Hills Boulevard.
CRT officers quickly located and detained the semi-truck driver and two additional suspects after confirming the trailer was reported stolen by the Benbrook Police Department.
The Salvage Squad responded to the scene, interviewed the suspects, and determined that the shop owner and manager, both present at the location, were also involved in the theft operation. In total, five suspects were arrested.
39-year-old Johnny Veail, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a State Jail Felony.
39-year-old Abdullah Majeed, Theft of Property >=$300K, a First-Degree Felony.
37-year-old Mohammad Husainy, Theft of Property >=$300K, a First-Degree Felony.
37-year-old Justin Kenney, Theft of Property >=$300K, a First-Degree Felony and a Benbrook Police Department Warrant hold for Theft of Property >$30K less than $150K, a Third-Degree Felony.
54-year-old Anthony Walker, Theft of Property >=$300K, a First-Degree Felony.
Further investigation revealed that the repair shop was being used to store large quantities of stolen cargo. The Salvage Squad Unit obtained a search warrant and recovered approximately $1 million in stolen goods linked to at least ten cargo theft cases across the DFW metroplex dating back to 2022.
Recovered items included:
- 600 aluminum rims
- One trailer, one motorcycle, one ATV, and one car engine
- A refrigerator and multiple air conditioners
- Numerous cases of motor oil
- 795 tires
- Additionally, $32,553 in U.S. currency was seized.
This successful operation highlights outstanding coordination between South Central CRT, the Salvage Squad, and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division, whose teamwork led to the recovery of stolen property and the dismantling of a major theft ring impacting multiple North Texas communities.
