Arrest Of Robbery Suspect By Southwest CRT Leads To Arrest Of Drug Dealer

On September 25, 2025, the Dallas Police Department’s Southwest CRT/Deployment officers located Ricardo Cabriales, 35, who was a suspect in a business robbery that occurred on September 7, 2025, in the 2300 block of west Illinois Avenue. The officers performed a traffic stop, which led to Cabriales being taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Robbery of a Business. During the investigation, officers obtained intelligence about a drug dealer, 37-year-old Edgar Cayetano, operating in the area. Cayetano was known by the officers to have active warrant for probation violation, and he was located in the 3300 block of Marvin D Love Freeway on September 26, 2025. Officers took Cayetano into custody and discovered he had 11 grams of fentanyl and 8.9 grams of methamphetamine, along with a handgun and nearly $700 in currency in his possession.

Cayetano was arrested for his probation violation warrant and charged with two counts of first-degree felony Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon with a Felony Conviction, a second-degree felony.

Major Raymario Sanchez, Southwest Patrol Division commander, said, “Chasing down every lead in an investigation is good police work. Our CRT and Deployment officers took the initiative to follow up on information about a fentanyl dealer operating in Dallas and took him and his dangerous drugs off the street.”
